Our patrol officers are uniformed in marked patrol cars.  They are contactable by two way radio to our 24 hour monitoring centre.

What is a security patrol service?

A random security patrol of your business premises provides a check of all your accessible gates, doors and windows to ensure they are closed and locked and remain so during the night or weekend. The patrol officer will report any condition that is not secure.

According to the Crime Doctor Chris McGoey (see links page) the primary purpose of a random security patrol service is to “deter property loss and vandalism after business hours because of their random presence”

Random & shared service

The key to remember with a Security Patrol service is that it is RANDOM. With a random patrol service you get our patrol car checking your building for a couple of minutes every couple of hours. If you need a more constant level of security you should consider installing a quality Aegis Alarm system or employing one of our licensed, trained and uniformed Security Guards.

A SHARED SERVICE means we will at all times endeavour to carry out the prescribed number of random inspections. However, interruptions and delays (or both) caused by break-ins at any of our other clients or other types of emergencies such as fire, flood, accident, alarm response at other clients or car accident or breakdown could prevent us making the stated number of calls for that night.

Why should we employ a security patrol service?

• to provide a check that ensures all accessible doors and windows are closed and lights are off.

• to deter vandalism by graffiti artists or people who want to destroy or steal your outdoors garden or plants.

• you do not want to outlay the investment in an alarm system.

• you have moved into temporary quarters or have rented a building on a temporary basis to hold stock and just need a basic level of security check to be conducted.

• check on stock in a yard or cars in a car yard or on staff cars parked in a staff car park

• escort staff safely off site.

• check inside a building for temperature alarms in the computer room

• check inside a building to ensure no tap has been left running or electrical failure has occurred.

• checking a new building after the fixtures and fittings have been added.

What level of security check do you require?

• Internal - inside a building. Keys and or alarm codes required.  Usually the most expensive type of security patrol service as takes the most time.

• Intermediate - inside the fence line but not inside a building. Gate key required.

• External - check the exterior of a building or around the fence line. No keys required, however, you may want to the patrol officer to hold keys in case of alarm or other problem such as an unlocked door.  Usually the cheapest security patrol service.

• Escort - escort staff off site at a predetermined time. Usually no keys required.  30 minutes notice required before each escort unless an exact time each day is specified. 

Number of random calls per night

We generally recommend three (3) random calls per night. Usually this means the calls are spaced between 6pm & 11pm, 11pm to 2am and 2am to 6am.

If you have staff working back late every night or coming in early, we can ensure the calls are made after staff leave or staff arrive, if that's what you want.

We can also mix and match the patrol calls so that more calls are conducted on the weekend when staff do not work back, i.e. 2 calls Monday to Friday and 3 calls per night on Saturday and Sundays and Public Holidays.

A single patrol call a night is still good value to check on all accessible doors and windows to ensure they are closed. A good and valuable addition to your alarm system.

Casual security patrols

We offer a casual patrol service, in particular a patrol service to cover the Christmas Holidays, Easter Holidays, Public Holidays and other School Holidays. If you have a school, factory or office that closes down for any of these periods, a security patrol could be the answer to providing a bit of "piece of mind" while you are resting.
The only thing we ask is do not leave it till the last day to arrange the patrols, especially if a key will be required. We offer Day & or Night patrols during the holiday periods listed above. When you review the Christmas holidays, you may want to organise Security Patrols by Aegis for the next Easter Holidays.

Specials: (i) Two = Free

If you have your alarm monitored by Aegis Security and you have your premises patrolled by Aegis Security, we offer FREE alarm attendances on your alarm activations.

(ii) Executive family protection plan: (EFP)

If your company has staff who constantly travel and stay over night interstate or intrastate our EFP plan is designed to help easy the mental burden that is suffered by these busy executives. Essentially if their partner hears a noise in the middle of the night they can call our 24 hour number and arrange for a patrol officer to attend the employees residence and check and see all is ok. In some suburbs we can arrange for a daily external check of your home, collect & hold your mail and the taking out and return of your garbage bins. These patrols are carried out by non uniformed staff in unmarked patrol cars at random times of the day or night to make the checks as discrete as possible.

Thieves look for the signs such as uncollected mail, junk mail strewn around, uncollected newspapers and garbage bins not out the night before and during the garbage collection times.  Don't let a thief target your home while your away.
