He got past the external security (high fences and padlocked gates)
Got past the intermediate security (large guard dog); but
Failed to beat our alarm system with monitoring.
Result: Aegis 1 - Offender 0 and in custody.
ALARM MONITORING
Aegis Security offers back to base alarm monitoring to our 24 hour, 7 day a week Control Room located in suburban Melbourne.
This control room monitors alarms across Australia including securitel (mainly for business) dialler and G.P.R.S. communication systems for small to medium businesses and home owners.
Our control room is subject to police review and assessment to ensure the highest standards of performance & data security are achieved and maintained.
The control room adheres to the relevant Australian Standard for operating a 24 hour security control room AS2201.2.

BUSINESS / COMMERCIAL ALARM MONITORING
If you have a small to medium business, Aegis Security can take over monitoring your existing alarm system AND do it better than your current service provider, especially if you are monitored by any one of the big multi national control rooms.
We are less expensive and provide the service you actually pay for including actioning time window infractions. Our control room can monitor securitel, dialler, G.P.R.S. & VOIP systems.
Our business customers tell us they enjoy talking to people who know about alarm systems and when an event occurs, the control room actually following the agreed instructions.
Special: If your company has their alarm monitored by Aegis Security we offer all staff a reduced rate on their home alarm monitoring. Monitoring alarm systems can also be part of your salary packaging options.
HOME / RESIDENTIAL
Aegis Security has one of the lowest rates for home alarm monitoring in Australia. We consider ourselves to be inexpensive not cheap.
$60.00 per quarter (13 weeks) including g.s.t. (Dialler only)
= $4.20 per week dialler monitoring plus g.s.t.
Plus we offer our "Friendly Neighbour Service" to many new clients who are based in the South East of Melbourne and some parts of Sydney. Friendly Neighbour Service means we physically check your premises once per day for upto 14 days while your on holidays. We can, if you wish, collect your mail & junk mail, put the garbage bins out and back in. $140.00 value, free. Call and find out if you qualify.
We do not charge any changeover cost to come over to us. # except where we have to purchase a new microchip for your alarm panel. Most don't but some do.
Our invoicing is quarterly* and not charged until the completion of the 2nd of the 3 months monitoring has been completed. We do not expect you to pay for a service we have yet to deliver.
* The invoicing period is flexible, some of our clients prefer just the 1 invoice per year.
Further, if you are monitored by one of the big multi national control rooms, have you ever phoned them for assistance? Been called by them? Should have been phoned by them? (a common complaint of many of our clients who came over from those big multi national control rooms “they didn’t call or they didn’t know who we where, they didn't care. “)

True story: Our first home alarm monitoring client started with us in 1997 and is still with us today. In that time we have raised their monitoring fee only once. That is 1 fee increase in 8 years! (other than the imposition of g.s.t).
How to changeover from your current supplier
1. Some monitoring companies insist on a minimum notice period. You need to contact your monitoring company and find out when you can finish up. They may say 3 months but usually 1 months notice is enough. See if your monitoring centre will let you know your "master code". A master code is sometimes different to your access code and allows a person to change the program of your alarm system. Now go to 2.
At Aegis Security we have no minimum period. Our philosophy is if you don't think we are doing our job, then go, with our blessing. That is confidence in the service we are providing is a good service, better than what you are currently receiving. That also has been our philosophy since 1996. So far we haven't lost 1 alarm monitoring client on service issue.
2. Write to your current alarm monitoring company confirming your intention to have them cease your alarm monitoring by a certain agreed date. Don't forget to include your name, your account number if you know it, your address and the address to which you are cancelling the monitoring and a daytime contact telephone number, in the unlikely event they will call.
3. Let Aegis Security know via phone, fax or email the date you will be finishing up with your other supplier. If possible if you could provide the name of the alarm system you have installed, so we can know if we need a technican or not. Also if you remember the 4 digit master code. The master code is not necessarily your access code. Please leave at least 1 week before cancelling with your other supplier. Once you tell us the date, we will arrange to bring your system over to our monitoring centre. This can sometimes be completed without the need for a technican to attend your home. What we will do is sometime between when you are to officially finish with the other company, we will takeover the monitoring for free until the actual date of handover is reached. That way we dont leave everything to the last minute and the possiblity of leaving you unmonitored.
4. Someone from Aegis Security will attend your home before the due handover date and takedown the relevant details of your alarm system, telephone contact numbers, voice codes and agreed alarm activation response procedures and answer any questions and finally, welcome you to Aegis Security :)
5. At the agreed time and date we will have our tech arrive to change over & service the system or telephone your property and complete the changeover over the phone (That's why we love the D.A.S. systems - easy)
