False AlarmsThere are only two types of false alarms. (1) Operator Error (2) Faulty equipment Both are annoying to the client, no doubt their neighbours and staff and to our control room. We at Aegis Security do not like false alarms and will work with our clients to eliminate them. - see our story in the warranty section of terms and conditions as an example. How to eliminate false alarmsOperator Error1. learn how to use the alarm panel is the first thing Entering the premises/home etc.2. At home or in the office or warehouse, when the 1st person arrives, makes sure only ONE (1) person goes in and turns the alarm system off. The rest must stay OUTSIDE until this is done. In a lot of cases the door is opened and people spread out heading to the lunch room or inside the house with one person going to the keypad to turn the system off. WRONG. Those sensors directly around the keypad are told to wait 10,20,30,40 seconds, which ever is programmed in before activating, giving the person who turns the alarm system off, time to do so. When others come in as well and start spreading out into other alarm areas, the system reacts immediately starting the sirens blaring and signals. What happens now is the system starts sending signals to our control room -- as it should. The problem is the person at the keypad trying to turn the alarm off gets there signals intermixed with the alarm signals. Remember this is only fairly simple equipment. The result maybe the singal to disarm is jumbled up and lost meaning the system will keep on blaring out alarm alarm alarm. Action: Dont try and keep on punching the code into the keypad. By now the system is confused. Everyone must come out and wait for the system to reset. Then, 1 go inside and disarm. Remember 1 in only to turn alarm off then the rest or, the rest just wait at the entry door.
3) Coming in the wrong entry point. The alarm will always trigger if you enter via the wrong door when your alarm system is on. It is designed that way. The right door is the one closest to the keypad. That's why we put the keypad close to the door you nominate as the one you will enter and or exit the most. The problem can be rectified. a) Add another keypad or; b) buy a keyfob to remotely turn the system on and or off from the outside. c) entering or exiting via the correct door;
